這種時候，多數人的直覺是去抓「驅動精靈」或「驅動人生」這類自動安裝工具，但那些軟體常常順手幫你裝了一堆不相干的東西，甚至改掉瀏覽器首頁。另一個做法是去硬體廠商官網找，但筆電或套裝電腦的支援頁面往往只放最後一版，而且連結早就失效。這類驅動程式的切入點其實很單純：它就是把 AMD 顯卡和 Windows 之間的溝通橋樑補起來，讓系統認得這張卡、能調整解析度、能跑 DirectX 遊戲。問題只在於，你找不找得到對的版本、裝了之後會不會跟系統衝突。

01AMD Catalyst Drivers 裝了到底能幹嘛？我電腦現在連解析度都不能調。

它主要工作是讓 Windows 認得 AMD Radeon 顯卡，裝完之後解析度選項會恢復正常，也能啟用 DirectX 和 OpenGL 加速，遊戲和影片播放才不會卡。另外它包含 Catalyst Control Center，可以調整 3D 設定、接雙螢幕、看 GPU 溫度和風扇轉速，也有內建超頻工具。以你現在連基本顯示都異常的狀況，裝這套是第一步。

02這套軟體支援 Windows 10 嗎？我另一台電腦也想裝。

根據收錄的資料，它支援的系統是 Windows Vista 64、Windows 7 64 和 Windows 8 64，沒有提到 Windows 10。如果你的電腦是 Windows 10，建議直接去 AMD 官網下載新版驅動，或找 Windows 10 專用的 Catalyst 版本。硬裝這套舊版在 Windows 10 上可能無法安裝或造成系統不穩，這部分需要自行確認。

03我的是 32 位元系統，可以裝這個 64 位元版本嗎？

不行。這個版本是給 64 位元系統用的，32 位元系統要去找 AMD Catalyst Drivers (Windows 7/8 32-bit) 或對應的 XP 32-bit 版本。裝錯位元數通常會直接跳出「此安裝套件不支援此作業系統」的錯誤訊息，不會造成損壞，但就是裝不起來。先確認你的系統是 x64 還是 x86，再挑對應版本。

04這套驅動有包含音效驅動嗎？我 HDMI 接電視沒聲音。

官方功能說明中有提到「integrated support for carrying sound over HDMI」，也就是支援透過 HDMI 傳輸音訊。安裝這套驅動後，HDMI 輸出聲音的功能會被啟用，但前提是你的顯卡本身支援 HDMI 音訊輸出，而且 Windows 的預設播放裝置要手動切換到 HDMI。如果裝完還是沒聲音，檢查一下音效設定裡的播放裝置清單。

05安裝過程會不會很複雜？我電腦不太熟。

官方說明指出它提供 wizard-assisted setup，也就是安裝精靈引導，基本上就是一直按「下一步」就能完成。安裝前建議先把舊的顯卡驅動移除乾淨，避免新舊版本衝突。另外安裝過程中可能會要求重開機，這是正常程序。如果你原本系統就裝過其他顯卡驅動，最好先用 Display Driver Uninstaller 之類的工具清乾淨再裝。

06這套軟體適合什麼樣的人用？

適合手上還有 Radeon 顯卡、但系統停在 Windows 7 或 Vista 64 位元的人，尤其是老電腦重灌後找不到驅動、或原本的驅動光碟已經不見的狀況。另外，如果你需要調整 3D 遊戲畫質、接雙螢幕、監看顯卡溫度，這套驅動內建的工具都還算夠用。但前提是你接受它已經很久沒更新，而且只支援舊系統。

07我這張卡是 Radeon HD 系列，裝這套驅動可以嗎？

官方說明提到它支援「several generations of Radeon GPU cards」，也就是多個世代的 Radeon 顯卡，HD 系列理論上涵蓋在內。但實際能不能裝、裝了效能如何，取決於你的具體型號和系統狀態。建議先查一下你的顯卡型號有沒有被列入這版驅動的支援清單，AMD 官網有歷史文件可以對照。如果型號太舊，可能要找更早期的 Catalyst 版本。

08這套軟體跟 NVIDIA 的驅動比起來，哪個比較好？

這套是 AMD Radeon 顯卡專用，NVIDIA Forceware 是 NVIDIA 顯卡專用，兩者不能互換，也沒有誰比較好的問題。你手上是哪家顯卡就裝哪家驅動。比較值得注意的是，NVIDIA Forceware 在收錄資料中評分人數也是 36 人，跟這套差不多，但兩者的支援系統和更新狀況不同。如果你同時有兩張卡，就各自裝對應驅動。

09我聽說這套軟體很久沒更新了，裝了會不會有安全風險？

收錄資料顯示它最後一次更新是 2013 年，近 24 個月更新次數是 0，確實長期沒有新版本。這代表它不會修補新發現的漏洞，也不會支援新出的遊戲或 API。如果你只是要讓舊電腦能正常顯示、上網、看影片，風險相對低；但如果你會用這台電腦連網處理敏感資料，舊驅動的漏洞確實是潛在風險。建議裝完後不要拿這台電腦做高風險操作。

10這套軟體在 Windows 8 上裝得起來嗎？我有一台 Win 8 的老筆電。

收錄資料顯示它支援 Windows 8 64，所以理論上可以裝。但要注意，Windows 8 的驅動簽章機制比較嚴格，這套 2013 年的驅動可能沒有通過新版簽章，安裝時可能會出現警告或需要進階選項才能安裝。另外，如果你的筆電是 UEFI 開機，Secure Boot 也可能擋掉未簽章的驅動。建議先關閉 Secure Boot 再試，或直接找筆電廠商提供的驅動。

11這套軟體評分只有 7.42，而且只有 24 個人評，是不是很爛？

評分人數少不代表軟體爛，只代表用的人不多。24 人評分、7.42 分，這個樣本數不足以判斷品質好壞。比較值得注意的是，功能相近的 AMD Catalyst Drivers (Windows 7/8 32-bit) 有 348 人評分，代表 32 位元版本的使用者遠多於 64 位元版本。如果你不確定該裝哪個，可以參考那個版本的評價，但最終還是要依你的系統位元數決定。

12我裝了之後畫面還是怪怪的，有可能是驅動沒裝好嗎？

有可能，但不一定是驅動的問題。先確認你裝的版本是 64 位元且對應你的 Windows 版本，再檢查顯卡是不是有過熱或硬體故障。官方說明有提到這套驅動包含溫度與風扇速度監控，你可以打開 Catalyst Control Center 看 GPU 溫度是否異常。如果溫度正常但畫面仍異常，可能是顯卡本身老化或記憶體問題，這就不是驅動能解決的了。

* Screen no longer becomes static after changing resolution in Just Cause 2™ with CrossFire enabled under Multi-GPU configuration
* Secondary (Slave) GPU and Memory Clock values will now increase when D3D
samples/games are running in fullscreen mode
* The maximum support mode will now be properly displayed when the CRT is
connected via the DP-to-VGA dongle
* Negative CrossFire scaling no longer experienced in Need for Speed™: Shift 2 on the ATI Radeon™ HD 5870 card
